Micah Belden

My name is Micah Belden and I am proud to be a criminal defense trial lawyer from Sherman, Texas. Over the years, I have tried many jury trials and achieved real results for people.

I am not a "settlement" lawyer who gets the best deal possible and talks the client into it.  I get the best deal possible and give people the reasons in favor of taking it and the reasons to reject it and go to trial.

Education

I earned my J.D. degree from one of the top-tier universities in the U.S., the University of Houston Law School, was on its national champion Mock Trial Team, and earned my B.A. from Texas A&M University. In the last five years, I have completed 117.25 hours of Texas criminal law continuing legal education.

This year alone, I have attended a postconviction remedy seminar in Austin, an advanced criminal defense course in San Antonio, and am scheduled to again take the State Bar's Advanced Criminal Law seminar to be a smarter lawyer for people.

I am one of only 55 trial lawyers in America who graduated in July 2009 from Gerry Spence’s prestigious Trial Lawyers College, an annual three-week-long program, in Wyoming.

I am board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Criminal Law.

Personal

Born and raised in Grayson County. I regularly try cases for a living in Grayson County, Collin County, Fannin County and occasionally Cooke County.
