Boating while intoxicated (BWI) is a criminal offense of the same level as DWI under Texas Law with punishment and collateral consequences the same or very similar to DWI.  With the number of lakes in the area, including Lake Texoma, Lake Lavon, Ray Roberts Lake, and Lake Lewisville, Grayson County, Collin County, Denton County, and Cooke County are all boating while intoxicated hot-spots. They are also hunting grounds for game wardens and troopers.
